Blue Badge Portal is committed to providing a service that is inclusive, understandable, and usable by everyone. We design and maintain this portal to meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards across our core user journeys.

Our standards

Our accessibility baseline includes:

Minimum body font size of 18px for readability.
Touch and click targets sized to at least 60px with clear spacing.
High contrast design aiming for at least a 4.5:1 ratio for standard text.
Semantic HTML, labels for form controls, and keyboard navigability for core flows.

How we test and improve

We review pages against manual keyboard checks, screen reader expectations, and automated accessibility scans. Accessibility is part of our ongoing release process, and we continue to improve areas identified through testing.
